Adjustments are made automatically to the raw data, using the current Sitting Slump and Clothing Settings. The unadjusted data are shown near the top of the output dialog.
Sitting Slump is the reduction in the effective length of the spine, caused by not sitting fully back and upright in a seat. Anthropometric measurements are taken in a very upright posture, so for most seats some adjustment is required. Often 40 mm (1.6") is used, although it varies a lot. Slump tends to increase with high seat bases, long seat cushions, low armrests, low headrests, and low lumbar supports The best seats require less adjustment.
Slumping also shoots the knees forward, though currently there are no experimental data as to how far forward, so this is NOT adjusted for automatically but should be considered in the design process.
